Homemade Energy Bars

    1/2 cup salted cooked peanuts
1/2 cup raisins or other dried fruit
1/2 cup salted cooked sunflower seeds
2 cups raw oatmeal (quick or old fashioned)
2 cups rice cereal (like Rice Krispies)

In a large bowl mix together these ingredients and set aside.

    1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup brown sugar (I usually only use 1/3 cup)
    1/2 cup light corn syrup
    1 tsp vanilla

In medium microwavable bowl combine peanut butter, sugar, and corn syrup. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Add vanilla.

Pour the peanut butter mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until mixed. Spoon into a greased 9x13 pan. Press down firmly and let sit for one hour before cutting into bars. No baking required!

The original recipe comes from Nancy Clark in "Endurance" magazine.
